Paris, Heaven for Foodies and Heiratage Lovers - Palace of Versailles

Paris is a hot destination to tourists from everywhere of the world. So, long queue is common in many sightseeing points. To shorten the queuing time and save money, I bought a 2-day Museum Pass at airport.

The pass unleashed its value at my first checkpoint - Palace of Versailles. I only had to line up once to enter into the palace. Those people have no pass or pre-booked ticket have to line up for ticket and then line up for entering the palace. Besides, the pass allows holders to visit garden when there is no fountain show or special event, mostly weekdays.

I think this golden gate is where many tourists spend the longest time to examine for they have to queue up here for some time before getting into the palace.

Hall of Mirrors is one of the world's most famous room. It's an authentic venue of royal balls. As its name suggested, there is a mirror wall one side which reflects the happenings in the hall. Windows facing the garden are on another side.

I appreciate the old art deeply from my heart for every piece is so well crafted to show every detail. Gold is a prominent element in the palace, from wall decorations to tableware.

The decorations of the queen's chamber is very feminine with a floral theme. Noted the bed is rather small in comparison with today's standard. It was because the French did not lie down to sleep. They sit. Because they believed only dead people would lie down.

More about the interior settings of the palace.

Walking through the palace, there is a huge garden awaiting tourists to visit. Fountain is still one of the highlights in the garden. The palace holds fountain show almost every weekend and charges higher admission fees.

This Pyramid Fountain looks in relatively small scale. Yet, it took 3 years to build it.

The Dragon Fountain described how the young Apollo killed the Python snake.

I was lucky to explore the royal garden in a beautiful day. Yet, the palace is so large that it is impossible to visit every part. Moreover, there are many other historical sites awaiting me. So it was time to say goodbye and back to the city centre.

For refreshment, my friend recommended me to try Mont Blanc (chateau nut tart), the signature item of Angelina. A pot of tea was the perfect math of the sweet tart.
