Hi again, Singapore - Sweet Ah Chew

The queue up here signage is indicative of the popularity of this dessert shop.

The interior setting is full of ancient artistic Chinese decorations.

The freshness of mango sago pomelo was impressive. The taste was strong and clear.

Red bean ice with durian a successful fusion dessert of Hong Kong and Singapore.

"Time for Taiwan" promotion campaign showcased famous food and scenery to attract Singaporeans at a MRT station.

This giant fan was as powerful as air conditioner.

Hi again, Singapore - Revisit Universal Studio Singapore

I only spent around 2 hours on my first visit to Universal Studio Singapore on when it was under soft opening in Jun 2010. At the time, many facilities were not yet ready. This time, both my friend me immersed ourselves in the theme park from 10am to 6pm, as long as a work day. My friend who is a truly thrilling ride lover, tried almost every ride and show. So did I except all roller-coasters.

2 things I love most of the park. The first is the WaterWorld show based on the movie under the same name. Featuring real explosions of fire and water, this live show is very sensational.

Transformers the Ride comes as the second. The strong motions and special effect made me feel like falling in the universe. I tried it twice even I am not a ride lover.

Here is my friend's No. 1 ride in the park - Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon, 2 scary roller-coasters. My friend kept saying they were so good and played 6 times at least.

I felt regret to try this Canopy Flyer. This ride swings too much in the air, so I just closed my eyes to release my tension. And thus I couldn't enjoy the bird's eye view of the park.

The excitement brought by this fierce dino was much more easier to handle.

A slow ride like Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase is good to me. And I was happy to meet up with the old buddies.

The boat ride in Madagascar is another safe ride to catch up with old buddies. The penguins often look like they have something indecent in mind.

Many characters sent greetings to tourists this time.

Complimentary beautiful sun set scene featuring cable cars when we left.

Hi again, Singapore - 3 Meals A Night

Loy Kee Chicken Rice is a highly recommended Hainanese chicken rice stall. My friend and me ordered a friendly plate for 2. We picked Hainanese and roasted chicken. Besides, the set came with vegetables, soup and rice.

The chicken was very tender and full of flavor. My friend said the lemon juice at the back was very refreshing. The deep fried tofu was good too but I prefer the chicken.

One thing I like Loy Kee is it's powerful air-con so that I could focus on my tasty meal and forget the heat outside.

We felt very satisfied after finished the supposed only dinner of the day. However, I found this famous Fa Qi Ren Bak Kut Teh (347 Balestier Road). Still had room for food? Not much. Wanna try? Sure. So, we lined up for the ad hoc second dinner.

Love the pork rib with little bit fat and Chinese donuts soap up the strong white pepper soup. The braised pig's trotter was good too. We cleared all the dishes though our stomachs were quite full of chicken. Well, now you can imagine how tasty this meal was.

After a short rest in hotel, my friend suggested to have durian in Geylang. It's funny that my friend couldn't distinguish the difference between D24 and a pack at SGD2. Sweet vs tasteless; tender vs dry were the two major differences. Yet, the best time for durian is late June to early July.

The 3 meals in short time made my friend felt wanted explode. For me, it's hard to sleep that night because my stomach was working hard to digest such a big feast.

Hi again, Singapore - Singapore Zoo

It's my first time to enter Singapore Zoo even I had been to Singapore for 5 times in less than 10 years. Hardly believe this frequent traveler hadn't visit the renowned tropical rainforest zoo before.

Lucky the zoo was not too crowd even we went there on Sunday. It's probably because most students were busy preparing for the exam in the coming week at home.

Singapore Zoo is renowned for its open setting. Tourists can observe animals closely. Fragile Forest is the most appealing zone to me because of the diverse and lively species.

What attracted these ring-tailed lemurs to queue up?

Yeah. It's feeding time. The lemurs waited patiently while the two little red parrots rushed to having meal on the feeder. I didn't realize such little things could have big appetite.

A feast in the rainforest. Invited guests include two-toed sloth, Malaysian flying foxes and red parrots. See how they enjoyed the tropical fruits.

Butterfly was relatively introvert so it preferred to have a corn on a side.

This lesser mousedeer was very shy and tried to escape from the humans surrounding him.

The zoo keeps an array of monkeys. Here are some representatives: proboics monkeys,
black and white colobus monkey and orang utans.

Fierce big cat - white tiger.

A true speed hunter - cheetah.

Tree kangaroo - an aussie buddy.

My all time favorite - penguins.

A nice scene in the zoo.

Hi again, Singapore - More Local Flavors

This Hokkien mee from an award-winning stall of the food court at VivoCity was unexpectedly yum. Don't forget to squeeze lime juice and add chili sauce to enhance the taste. I would have it again.

My friend thinks we can only experience the real local flavors from where the local people usually go. Another reason is the pricing of local eateries is more friendly. Therefore, we spend out last lunch of the trip at Bugis Village Hawker Centre.

Fatty oysters were the keys to make a delicious fried oyster dish.

Char kway teow is another famous Fujian style dish.

Forgot the name of this dish. Yet, the crispy shells were impressive.

Thick durian ice-cream brick on crispy biscuits. A nice dessert to cool down in a hot day.

Both breads are from a local bakery chain store. The left one not only carried a cute face but also yummy taste. The right one is called Ikan Bilis. This cross-cultural little thing contains spicy tiny fishes.

Hi again, Singapore - A Touch of Local Flavour @ 21 Seafood

Talking about Singapore cuisine, pepper crab and chili crab are truly ones of those die, die, must try dishes. Instead of going to renewed seafood restaurants, my friend suggested to enjoy the local favorites at a rather small restaurant in a residential area - 21 Seafood.

The presentation doesn't not appealing? Well, it depends if you eat food or the look. This black pepper crab is meaty and rich in black pepper flavor. Slightly spicy. Super yum!

My friend recommended egg yolk crab which is also popular among the local people. The taste was fantastic. The chef added herbs and chili which further enhance the aroma of the dish. Excellent.

See the crab claw. It's in giant size compared to the crab body. Price in local eatery is usually more friendly. These 2 big crab were sold at SGD50-55 in total. A crab in a restaurant located in tourist area can be sold at SGD50-60. It may costs more if you choose imported crab rather than commonly used local mud crab or pick a live crab from the restaurant's fish tank. Check before you go. Otherwise, you may be shocked by the bill.

Deep fried buns were good to soap up the thick sauce of egg yolk crab. The fried asparagus were good to clear the strong smell in mouth.
