Manhattan Re-discovery - American Museum of Natural Hisotry

American Museum of Natural History is a large-scale museum which was found in 1869. This brick-built entrance serves as an official proof.

Fierce rivalry for the crown of the museum. Both candidates look majestic.

The newly renovated dinosaur hall were my favorite of the museum. The fossils are placed vividly and lively. Not sure if they will have a walk when the lights are out.

These 2 Alaska Brown Bears were counting number of visitors.

A group of elephants was marching through the hall.

Specimens of the beautiful nature.

Pretty shell of a snail.

Human is part of nature so the museum also showcases human lives. For example, pyramid building in ancient Egypt.

Influence of region in the past.

There was a video kiosk in the museum. Visitors can stand in a set point so the camera will shoot them into a video with wild African animals as background. Try it out.

Manhattan Re-discovery - Accomodation

My friend and me stayed at 2 hotels in different districts.

The first one was Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge located in Chinatown because we would catch an early bus to Boston. The hotel provided simple hot breakfast which provided us sufficient energy to start our adventure in cold days. Yet, the room was pretty small, the bed was not too comfortable and the wall was pretty thin that I could hear big noise from another room. And the price was high for what it offered.

The second hotel was Candlewood Suites NYC Times Square Hotel located in Fashion district. Times Square and other attractions are in walking distance. The studio room was pretty comfortable and everything in room was handy. The hotel also provided self-washing services which my friend loved a lot. Note that it's not a real hotel but apartment so cleaning services was on weekly basis rather than daily basis.

Manhattan Re-discovery - Snap Shots

You jump I jump.

Lovely paper art at SOHO.

Mouth-watering ham at Little Italy.

I wanted to suggest my friend to have a nice hair cut but It was too late.

Somebody just has ran away from the wonderland.

Parking lots dedicated for little things.

A weird building.

Tempting pasta available at the Museum of Sex gift shop.

Some showpieces at the Museum at FIT.

The entrance of a building in the Upper East side looked like those valuable collections in museums.

Coke bottle collection.

Changing brain washing material.

Love the landmark design as it perfectly matches the Fashion District.

I would give the company a try if I can.

The Metropolitan Opera House and Avery Fisher Hall with the moon at back created a romantic feel.

Manhattan Re-discovery - Yummy Food

Vietnamese food in Chinatown. Yummy and in big portion.

Food stall around Chinatown / Soho. The lamb with rice is unforgettable. My friend and me tried other dishes in another day.

Big and sweet strawberries. Around US$2 for a box. How cool!

Shake Shack, one of the top 10 burger shop in New York. I personally highly recommend.

Hot mushroom soup and Peter Luger sandwich. Meat monster would enjoy the sandwich much.

Remember this deli's name as their sandwich was really great.

No matter which kind of restaurant you go in the US. The portion is very big. Lucky the lobster tasted good otherwise it would be a waste to give up such a big meal.

What kind of meal did we have at the cost of US$2.5? The answer was 2 slices of face-sized plain pizzas plus a can of soft drink. Amazing! The set was sufficient to feed my friend and me.

Meat again. American is really a paradise for meat lover. The biscuits were yummy too.

My friend and me finished the dish together. But my other friends who have lived in the US for long could finish a main oneself.

Wow Angus burger. Tasted ok. Steakhouse was still the best choice for a juicy and tender Angus steak.
