Sydney, A City in Another Hemisphere - Just about Some Yummy Food

I planned to try some award-winning restaurants. Yet, most of them were closed during Easter time. So, just have to wait for next chance. Nevertheless, I still enjoy some yummy food during the trip.

The cost of living in Australia is pretty high. A dinner with only 2 dishes coated over AUD60. Lucky the food was delicious, especially the punkin pizza.

The chauffeur loves this small family-run Italian restaurant. Everything was yummy.

The pancake was the best among the 3 dishes. The restaurant is at the Rocks with good view but fair quality food in high price.

This creamy blueberry cheesecake was sooooooo delicious with the soft whip cream.

Breakfast time. The potato chips were crispy. For the salmon, the taste was too light to me.

Breakfast of another day in light version. The yogurt and flat white from a small cafe did impress me.

Food from Jamie Oliver's was so so.

Remember the chef? He was a guest of the TV programme, "Junior MasterChef Australia". His dessert were all beautiful and delicious.

Dessert from a Taiwan chain store. The quality was almost as good as the original outlet in Taiwan.

Angus from McDonland. The patty was too dry and the overall quality was not that good.

Sydney, A City in Another Hemisphere - Couples of Snap Shots

Bicycle zone. Will you try to go green by cycling next to air pollution makers?

Gear up! Show how powerful a green car can be.

A seagull drinking water in a fountain.
A modern light rail traveling between old buildings in CBD.
Easter is probably not a good time to travel to Australia. So many famous restaurants and shops are closed, just like this reputable chocolate store.
A lovely pony-shape decoration in a restaurant.
Wanted to experience wild night at Kingcross. But there was serious traffic jam ahead. The picture was shot when the chauffeur was driving to another way. Besides, the chauffer was caught for alcohol test for almost 10 times in 2 hours.
The chauffeur then drove from the East to the West, from the North to the South in Sydney. Forgot where this lighthouse was. Just feel weird to drive around in midnight.
The last picture of my trip to capture the famous sea of red roof scene around the Sydney Airport.

Sydney, A City in Another Hemisphere - Bondi Beach

Unexpectedly my Australia trip became a beach trip. My foot prints were on several beaches, including the Bondi Beach, one of the top 10 Australian attractions.

The long long coastal line.

Brief history of life saving.

Clear water and rocks made me recall the attractive scenery along the Great Ocean Road.

Both the very rich and the poor are attracted to the beautiful beach. This expensive apartment is my friend's dream house. The reason is simple. The balcony is facing to the beach.

Prefer gentle water to fierce ocean? Then, the swimming pools are for you.

Colourful buildings and facilities in town grant happy power to the place.

Sydney, A City in Another Hemisphere - Let's Rock @ the Rocks

The Rocks was where the first settlement located because the coastal area was the best place for visiting sailors to take a rest or to purchase necessities.

Some of old settlement buildings.

Balance of city development and conservation in as an all-time dilemma. Australians are lucky to have these well preserved historical buildings to appreciate. You may say it's because Australia is huge. It's true. But the more important point is vision.

Some old buildings have been converted to relaxing cafes.

Signature statute at the Rocks. It is one of the 3 sides.

The Rocks Market is not big but there are many attractive local goods and international food.

It's fun walking under the busy Sydney Bridge. To have a climb? A walk is better for me.

The real fortune is no more war.

2 ways of touring around the Rocks on water. Quietly on a water taxi or excitedly on a boat.

Aboriginal performance is common in popular tourism spots.

Love these paintings.

Pillar boxes in simple design. It took more than a week to mail a letter from Hong Kong to Australia.

Sydney, A City in Another Hemisphere - Art Gallery of New South Wales

Art Gallery of NSW is perfect for budget conscious art lover because it offers free admission. It is the biggest gallery in town and is the fourth largest gallery in the country.

The gallery building is an art piece in Neo-classical style.

Preservation requires a sense of beauty, just like maintain the elegant old interior well. Pity some places demolish valuable buildings but rebuild ugly fake ones.

Treasures of aboriginal Australians - spirits of various natural elements in earth colour tone.

Representative of contemporary arts - colourful and in 3D form.

The curve of this Western art piece well reflects the power of the human and snake.

I think ancient people were more dedicated to what they did. Check out the details of these Asian art crafts.
