Manhattan Re-discovery - Once More at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

If you ask me where to go in New York, certainly the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) is on my recommendation list. Comparing to the MoMA, Met building looks more historical and cultural.

A special exhibition at the time was "Haremhab - The General Who Became King". Haremhab was famous for his military and economic achievements.

Fragment of wall painting. Ancient Egyptians painted to record important incidents.

An art piece made of stone. Similar to the rest of the world, art was a mean of broadcasting religious messages.

Mummy, a significant characteristic of ancient Egyptian culture.

The Astor Forecourt with the round gate as entrance was a typical design in Ming Dynasty of China. The pair of guardian lions meant to protect the house.

Inside the courtyard.

Furniture in Ming Style.

Chinese Buddhism art in form of large-scale statute.

The carved wooden dome, balconies and supports of this architectural ensemble were from a temple in India.

Choir screen from tehe Cathedral of Valladolid in Spain was an art piece in the Medieval era.

Glass decoration from a church.

A very decorative box probably belonged to a lady.

This box was probably for a gentleman.

Luxurious Boiserie from the Hotel de Cabris in Paris.

Luxurious Boiserie from the Palasis Paar, in Vienna.

Perseus with the Head of Medusa, a marble sculpture featuring a Greek myth made in Italy.

Water, another large-scale sculpture that was likely a decoration in garden.
