Prague Summer - Accomodation ‧布拉格之夏 - 住宿

Hilton Prague is a good place to relax with its quite spacious room and newly renovated facilities, like business center, swimming pool and gym, etc . Yet, it is a bit away from the town centre. Nowhere to walk around, especially at night. Talking about the breakfast buffet, choices of food were very limited and consistent and the food tasted ok.
這次行程下榻於 Hilton Prague，論地點不太方便，附近可說甚麼也沒有。可能如此，房間較寬敞。酒店的設施也很齊全，有商務中心、游泳池和健身室等。早餐方面，選擇不多，味道一般，天天同款。

The best in the hotel - mattress and pillow which provided me quality sleep and full recharge for another day's travel. This double bed was reserved for me only.
全間酒店最讚的就是其床褥和枕頭，軟硬適中，充電後又可再次到處逛。這張雙人床，最好就是獨個兒享用。


Bathroom and washroom are separated to provide convenience for two.
浴室和洗手間是分開的，很方便。

Prague Summer - Charles Bridge ‧布拉格之夏 - 查理士橋

Charles Bridge has been the most important connection between Old Town and New Town since 14th century. Apart from its practical function, it now also serves as a famous sightseeing spot where always packed with tourists.
查理士橋自14世紀以來一直都是連接布拉格舊城區和新城區的重要橋樑。現在更成為了著名景點，遊人如鯽。

Long queue often appears in front of the Statue of St. John of Nepomuk. Why? It is believed that touching the statue would bring people luck.
橋上的內波穆克的聖約翰像前不時出現人龍，因為相傳觸摸這個像可帶來好運。


There are another 29 statues on the sides of the bridge, 30 statues in total. The statues were erected according to Catholic stories.
兩旁還豎立了29座以天主教故事為基礎的雕像，總計30座。

街頭賣藝人總是悠悠閒閒的，似是為享受而生活。



A number of souvenir shops at the end of the bridge. This one is selling traditional Czech wooden puppets.
橋的兩端有很多售賣紀念品的商店，這間賣的是捷克傳統木偶。

Europe Trip 2007 歐洲之旅

Aug 23-28 in Prague, Czech Republic
Aug 28-31 in Vienna, Austria

Weather was my concern as there were many bad news on it. For instance, Europe was undergoing the record-breaking heat (up to 40c) in early Aug and it had rained for a week in Czech right before my departure. Luckily, I was welcomed by sunny weather and lovely breeze when I arrived Prague. Probably it was a sign of an enjoyable trip.

With the cultural background and amazing scenery, Europe has replaced Canada as my favorite place in this 7-day travel (excluding the time flying in the air). I dare to visit Prague and Vienna again so that I can admire the places more deeply. Hope my wish will come true soon.

若以天氣論，今次的旅程實在得到幸運之神的眷顧。8月初，歐洲正值嚇人的熱浪，出發前的一星期，則雨下過不停，但到埗後，卻遇到歐洲難得的好天氣，差不多天天放晴，加上微風，只有氣侯怡人可以形容。

這次7天(不計於雲海遊蕩的時間)的旅程，雖然行色匆匆，卻也見識了歐洲的浪漫文藝氣息。歐洲現已取代了加拿大在我心中的地位。希望日後有機會重遊舊地，再慢慢欣賞捷克和奧地利的文化和風光。

Singapore Again and Again - Part 4

After sending C to the airport, A drove me to the Changi Village for delicious Hainan Chicken Rice which only priced at SGD 1.5. Then, we took a walk and found the unexpectedly beautiful and refreshing view. An ideal place for chatting with friends.



CHIJMES is my favorite dining place in Singapore. A wide range of international cuisine and decent settings there fit for those who chase quality life. The unique architecture is inherited from an old church and girl's convent school.



Statue of Merilion in Santosa from Vivo City, the newest large-scale shopping mall in town. Merilion is the symbol of the country. If you want to visit it, you can take cable car at the shopping centre.

Singapore Again and Again - Part 3

Apart from enjoying various kinds of food in Singapore, we also tried some special tropical fruits to balance our diet.

Don't like durian? How about this "found gwai" version? (Originally named as soursop 蕃鬼榴槤). Unlike durian, it is not protected by a hard shell but a skin as soft as baby's. Thus, you have to treat it gently or it will be rotten easily.


The taste? Good combination of a very light light touch of durian, juicy and rich in fiber. You would like it even you don't like the original version of durian.


This kiwi-like fruit is chiku (人參果) which was quite sweet and delicious.


Forgot the name of this little fruit. We got it free from a supermarket as it's impossible to weight it. A and C threw it away immediately right after the first try. Somebody told us it probably was not yet ripe and why it tasted terrible. The ripe fruit taste very good indeed.
