Singapore Again and Again - Part 2

Despite of the scale, Singapore Philatelic Museum not only provides extensive stamp exhibition but also interactive multimedia games which delivers a lot of surprises and fun.

Big post box VS Small post boxes.

Love stamps too much? How about become one?

Malaysian contributes 14% of Singapore population. Wanna learn more about this second largest race in the country? Malay Heritage Centre probably is a good place to go.

A stage for Malaysian folk music performance.

Clarke Quary is a place for food. We had a delicious Italian cuisine there. What surprised us most was an Indian waiter who could speak fluent English, Cantonese, Indian, Malay, etc. When we praised his talent, he simply replied it's for living in Cantonese (搵食).

Singapore Again and Again - Part 1

Singapore
Aug 3-9, 2007

Singapore is the place I visited quite often these few years as A has moved there. This time, C joined us for the first 4 days to have the big 3 reunion. Let's see where we left our footprints together.

Beautiful sun set accompanied C and me to Singapore.

Lich Ness Monster? It's a lizard swimming happily in Sungei Buloh Wetland. His friends like taking sun bath or a walk as well.

A group of white birds are relaxing. This scene is familiar? Of course. Because you can see many birds visiting in Mai Po in Hong Kong through out the year.

How many crabs can you see? Enlarge the photo and check the mud holes.

Give and take is the principle of life. The cost of shooting these beautiful flowers several mosquito
bites. Yet, the poorest victim was C who claimed got no mosquito bite in HK. Being the imported taste, C became Singapore mosquitoes' favorite no matter how much spray was used.

Short Break in Gaungdong - Part 3

According to the tour guide, there are 3 XiHu (西湖) in the mainland China. The most famous one is in Hangzhou. Another one is this in Guangdong and one I forgot where it is. As I haven't been to the other 2, so I can't tell which one is the best.

Do you know how much was this big dinner? Only around
RMB 98!!! The taste? Fair. This restaurant is well decorated and seems a good place for dating or semi formal gathering. It's located around the Threater Station (大劇院站) in Shenzhen and operated by a large Taiwan catering group.

Well, it's time to my lovely home.

Short Break in Gaungdong - Part 2

The dinosaur museum was another attraction pushed me to enroll the tour.

Welcome by a fake dinosaur skeleton.

A local dinosaur specimen. The size is very small.

The original look? Seems like a chicken.

Dinosaur egg fossils.

View of Guangdong from a dam.

The dam is able to resist earthquake up to 6 degree.

Short Break in Gaungdong - Part 1

Gaungdong, China
Dec 17-18, 2006

Thirsted for a break but time was very limited, thus, my friend and me took a 2-day tour to Guangdong. The selling point of the tour was staying in a new hot spring resort named "Yu Lin Men" (御臨門溫泉渡假村). There are more than 20 hot springs with different themes and functions at your choice. A good place for relaxing but it takes around 3 hours by coach from Hong Kong to there, quite a long way.

The resort is in Bali style.

Spacious and clean room.

Beautiful lobby.

Fireworks bought from the resort. Not sure why the video doesn't place properly.
